Students at San Jose State University that enjoy playing competitive games or wish to get into the competitive scene, can do so by joining SJSU’s very own Collegiate StarLeague team. The SJSU StarLeague team kicked off their season last Friday by holding the year’s first team meeting.
The Spartan StarLeague team will continue to gather every other Friday. LAN meetings are held in which members hone their skills and build team chemistry. Casual gamers are welcome to attend as well at the Charles Davidson Engineering building room 341. You can keep up to date with weekly updates on the Spartan StarLeague Facebook page.
For those that do not know what StarLeague teams are, they are competitive gaming teams that represent college campuses all across the nation (for more info, see here). SJSU’s team was founded back in 2011, have placed in numerous tournaments, and boasts a total membership of 64 players on Steam. Most recently they placed 1st in the 2016 CSL grand finals for CS:GO. While teams in CSL are eligible to play League of Legends, Hearthstone, Overwatch, CS:GO, and StarCraft II, SJSU’s team is best known for their League of Legends and CS:GO teams.
