Nordic Gaming Bootcamp

For aspiring CS:GO players looking to take their skills to the next level, a full-fledged gaming bootcamp is being held in the country of Finland. Nordic Esports Academy is already looking to train gamers this summer. 

The Nordic Esports Academy is a summer school/ tournament set up by the Kajaani University in conjunction with Vuokatti Ruka Sports Academy. The camp is looking to take in 80-100 students and push them through a rigorous  CS:GO training course consisting of workshops, lectures, and one-on-one coaching sessions.

The COO of the Nordic Esports Academy, Noel McAvennie, says that lecturers and coaches will not be consisted of only Finnish players, but will also feature international esports experts from all over the world. This helps dispel doubts of applicants that may be hesitant to join due to language barriers.

The academy will also feature a small internal CS:GO tournament which will have a prize pool of 10,000 euros ($10,666.50). The camp will run from June 12th to July 6th. Anyone interested in applying can apply here, however application comes with a fee of 150 euros ($160).

The camp almost serves as a sort of summer internship providing valuable experience, expert training, and a foot-in-the-door to the highly lucrative world of competitive gaming.
